About Alley Cats and Angels

Our Mission

Alley Cats and Angels (AC&A) is a non-profit feline rescue organization dedicated to making a difference in the lives of unwanted and abandoned cats in our community. We strive to decrease the number of homeless cats through our adoption program, trap-neuter-return (TNR) efforts for feral cats, education of pet owners on sterilizing owned cats, and public education and awareness.

Alley Cats and Angels is a local, all volunteer rescue group founded by veteran rescuers. AC&A is a non-profit organization and 100% of donated funds go toward helping stray and feral cats in our area.

Alley Cats and Angels strongly advocates the basics of TNR and colony management for feral and stray cats that are not adoptable. We assist caregivers in searching for new homes for the cats and supervise the relocation of colonies of street cats living in areas that are unsafe and/or scheduled for demolition. Our relocation efforts include our barn cat program, which relocates groups of feral cats that meet certain requirements

We also believe in the importance of expanding the public's awareness for the need to neuter and vaccinate all pets. All of AC&A's work is accomplished by a network of dedicated, unpaid volunteers whose common objective is to improve the problems of the existing homeless feline population while simultaneously working towards reducing their future numbers through the combination of feline sterilization and public education.

Alley Cats and Angels is a network of foster homes. We do not have a shelter building. We take a limited number of friendly cats and kittens into the adoption program based on the space available in our foster homes.

Program Overview

Adoption Program

Friendly adoptable cats are often found living in feral cat colonies.  In addition, many of the young kittens in a colony can be tamed with proper handling and attention.  These friendly cats and kittens are pulled from their colonies and placed in AC&A's Adoption Program where they receive medical care and socialization and then are ultimately adopted into loving homes.

Barn Cat Program

Our barn cat program seeks secure barn homes for cats that cannot be socialized to a home/family environment. If you have a working barn or safe outbuilding, there are cats that need you. Having barn cats will help keep down the rodent and pest population. The cats will be helping you, while you provide them a safe place to live and daily food/water. These cats have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and treated for fleas. These cats are also ear-tipped (ear is cropped to indicate they have been spayed/neutered and vetted).

Feral Cat Education and Assistance

Alley Cats and Angels offers advice and assistance to individuals and other groups with respect to non-lethal feral cat management. We teach the basics of TNR and colony management for feral cats. We also assist local caregivers in several counties by loaning trapping and recovery equipment, assisting with trapping as needed, providing information on low-cost spay/neuter programs, and providing short-term care for the recovery of feral cats after spay/neuter surgery. AC&A also offers advice and assistance to individuals and other groups with respect to non-lethal feral cat management.
